Non-alcoholic drinks are not just a trend, they are a central component of a modern and diverse beverage culture. New suppliers and products are constantly coming onto the market. However, the direction and positioning of the individual brands is often still unclear - especially as the industry is still in its infancy. This makes it all the more important to play an active role in shaping this development right now. What is the vision behind LOW&ZERO products, where do we want to go?
With the new AUSTRIAN ZERO AWARD 2025, we as VieVinum Future Academy and Del Fabro Kolarik want to put alcohol-free innovations in the spotlight and discover the best products for retail, gastronomy and the hotel industry.
At the largest tasting award for non-alcoholic beverages in German-speaking countries in February 2025, all submitted non-alcoholic products (max. of 0.5% by volume) were ranked according to 13 categories and evaluated by trained tasting experts in the form of blind tastings.
The tasting jury was made up of a Master of Wine as well as wine academics, graduate sommeliers and experienced trade experts. The jury met for three days at Del Fabro Kolarik in Vienna 11 to evaluate the submissions. The tasting and evaluation was based on the international 20-point scheme, with the focus on both product quality and value for money. The best products in each category were awarded the following prizes: Bronze/Silver/Gold as well as Double Gold for any particularly outstanding innovations.
